Faith over Feelings
Let’s get one thing straight: Two things can exist at the same time. You can feel worried, anxious, or straight-up terrified, and still walk in faith. Faith isn’t about pretending those feelings don’t exist; it’s about choosing to trust God even when they do.
Fear is loud, but faith is louder - if you let it be.
What Is Faith, Really?
Faith transcends a feeling, it’s a knowing. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith is trusting that what God has spoken over your life is true, even when your circumstances are trying to convince you otherwise. It’s not wishful or hopeful thinking — it’s anchored in the truth that God’s plan is bigger than your fear.
And let me tell you it takes a woman of unshakable faith to stand firm when fear creeps in. As women of faith, we’ve already been given dominion over all things. God didn’t create us to shrink under the weight of fear, He created us to rise above it. When you operate from the spirit - not the mind - you tap into that power. The spirit is whole, compassionate, and directly connected to the Creator. That’s where faith lives.
Here’s where a lot of us get tripped up: Just because you feel something doesn’t mean it’s true. Feelings are messy. They’re inconsistent, fleeting, and tied to the moment - but Faith isn’t. Faith stands firm; constant and consistent when everything else is shifting.
Your mind might be telling you, “You’re not ready.”
Your emotions might be screaming, “You’re not enough.”
But faith says, “You are called.”
Faith says, “You are equipped.”
Faith says, “You’ve already got what you need.”
When feelings run the show, you put a cap on who you can be. But faith knows no limits. Faith stretches you, expands you, and calls you higher. That’s why walking in faith means operating from the spirit, and not the mind. Your mind reacts to what’s happening around you, but your spirit knows what’s already been promised to you.
For many, operating in faith can be scary and daunting when fear has gripped you, and while it’s not easy, it is possible. How you do it is often the unanswered question.
So how do you actually walk in faith when you’re scared out of your mind? Because let’s be real, it’s not easy. But it is possible.
Acknowledge Your Feelings, and then Release Them.
You don’t have to pretend you’re not scared. Feel it, but don’t stay there. Recognize it, and then hand it over to God. Let faith carry what fear is trying to hold.Shift from Emotion to Vision.
Fear keeps your focus on the problem. Faith focuses on the promise. You have to make the conscious decision to align with God’s vision, and not the chaos of the moment. That’s where clarity comes from.Move, Even When You're Shaking.
Faith isn’t passive. It requires action. Take the next step even when you don’t feel ready. Trust that God is making a way, even when you can’t see it yet. Faith doesn’t ask for proof, it asks for trust.
Faith is a constant work in progress. If you’ve built your life around curiosity, around seeking more, growing, and expanding - you’ll naturally defy gravity. But without boundaries, without alignment, you’ll stay stuck. Faith lives in the curious corners of your spirit - the place where there are no limits, no fear, and no need for proof.
That’s the thing about faith. It exists in the spirit, connected to God. And when you lead from that place, you become unstoppable.
It’s imperative to say that yes, it’s easy to trust God when things are working out. But real faith shows up when nothing makes sense. Faith is knowing that God’s plan is unfolding, even when you don’t have all the answers. Faith is the courage to step forward when fear is telling you to sit down.
Feelings will come and go. Fear will try to steal your confidence. But faith? Faith is steady. Faith is constant. It reminds you that you were created to lead, to thrive, and to impact others - not because you feel ready, but because God has already made you ready.
You might feel fear, but you are not fear. You are faith.
You might feel doubt, but you are not doubt. You are faith.
The power is in using your agency to choose where to focus your attention and to tap into that choice - to trust God more than your feelings, to live in faith, and to know that what’s unfolding is better than the fears you have inside, because like I said, two things can exist at the same time: fear can be loud, but allow your faith to be louder and trust that it will - if you let it be.
